Thanks for making this. I used PG44A grease instead of 767A, works like a charm. When disassembling I had an issue with the second spider leg rod. It must have been loctited really well because I couldn’t get it to budge at all. What I instead did was I unscrewed the top plate from the internals and lifted it as far up to the connector as possible which allowed the rear clutch arm the lift a lot higher which because of its design created a little more space between it and the plastic disc. Then I rotated the plastic clutch disc so that the 45° cut was where the clutch arms are intersecting at said spider leg rod., to alleviate any pinching points. From there it was possible to remove it without taking off the rod. Could also work on the other clutch as well! The clutch design with the thin groves is a much more capable design than what I have seen from my Gunfighter MK3, too bad Virpil doesent ship it with dampening grease preapplied.

Ok, this is great for peeps with throttles. But what about us space sim guys running two alpha constellations? Got a Z extension, and i am using it as a throttle.

Was/is the controller connected by BT or wired?

The damping force is proportional to the velocity. Diagonal velocity magnitude is larger than the two x and y components. But not by much. The stair motion ultimately achieves the same diagonal motion. So you are not supposed to lose any degree of freedom here. I would encourage you not to think about it too much and try to focus on the goal. If the damping force is too much, reduce the clutches a bit. This stair motion is encouraged by how the two axes cams are designed, a true universal joint will have a gamble, ball socket, which will give you better smoothness.

thank you (really, this is really helpfull) for providing information the product provider was not able to provide for something that should not have even been necessary to provide for an update about a "merge install" should have , well "merged" I a few decades, looking back, maybe someone daringly will ask if random chuckles were to be heard at some point en suite a purely imagined slight head movement from left to right and back in repetition :)

Great tutorial as ever.....the Virpil AH64 grip's hat has loads of movement on the axis, for anyone mapping that to the real Apaches cursor up/down/left/right in DCS.....I'd recommend setting the values to 0-5% and 95-100% otherwise its too easy to hit 2 x button presses when moving the stick. 👍

how are you spawning units in game? I thought that stuff could only be done in mission editor.

Could this be a method for XP12/FCU Autopilot Toggle between Selected and Managed Modes for Rotary Switches E1 and É2 (press to latch)? I have Virpil CM3 Throttle E1 and E2 rotaties bound to HDG +/- and SPD +/+ (on a Toliss A321Neo Airbus) but the mode change toggle doesnt seem to work as the presses are not latching I want the 2 buttons E1=61 and E2=64 to be LATCHED Or you you have a better suggestion? If the base cannot be seen by the PC, and assuming the cable is working, would this resolove the issue? I have this on 3 devices, all cannot be detected by the computer, and its the same on my laptop as well

I have the base plus arriving this week ...I did not order a grip with it as I've not decided what heli to stick with in DCS & I really just need the collective & throttle. I have a custom cockpit with 6 MFD (Multifunction Displays) each has 20 programable buttons & my cyclic grip has more. The last thing I need is more buttons to program so thought I'd save $300. & not buy a grip for it. Do I NEED a grip to make this work?

I would guess the throttle portion is more modeled after the twist grip on something like the Hind, (and possibly Mi-8, I don't remember) where there is no idle detent like on the Huey, the black handle also looks pretty similar to the hind. Great review!

There is no longer a "result button" output on axis to button and I have no idea how to make this work. The config manual isn't helping either.

I'm running two Constellation Alpha Primes. Both left and right scroll controls actually have things bound to them. Can you configure something like rY to act as a mouse wheel ingame? It looks like you can, but unlike your example, I'm already using those button numbers.

Are there any alternatives for a good Dead stick Cyclic? Im running a Virpil for normal flight bud id love a proper Cyclic with good long throw and dead stick or better still with dampers that allow the precise movement. Also hi fellow NI man 😅 glad im not alone out here in the sim world!

I couldn't follow along as much as I wish I could have because the current version of the software, but it still helped me know what to look for and how it still should work, even if things are 100% the same now. By the way, I love different accents from all corners of the world, so this isn't making fun of it, but I am genuinely curious. When you write words with the letter "T" in the middle of the word, do you actually write them? I NEVER hear them. The only time I ever hear the "T" sound, is if you (not just you, in fact several nationalities do this same thing) are saying a word where it's at the end of the word. Such as descent. Never in words like Throttle. We hear "Thraw------Le". Same with all words like it, such as bottle, etc. I am a simmer, and have been for 30 years, since Falcon 3.0, so most of my friends are from many countries, with very few being fellow Americans (maybe two, it's sad it's not more popular here). Most people here that I know have no idea how many countries do other things, such as with the "th" in a word, they pronounce it as two F's. With, would be said as Wiff. Or fourth, would be fourf. I'm not at all racist but do know many that are, and the majority of those Americans honestly belive it's only African Americans. Again, I truly do find our differences a great thing, not hating here. Just curious.

Can no longer follow along with this video with virpils newer software, especially curves. Even in this video they certainly always seem to go out of their way to make setting a simple curve ridiculously difficult and time consuming. Can't even make dead zones. At least I've yet to figure out how to.
